May 4 – 8, 2015 is National Small Business Week. Every year since 1963, the U.S. President has declared a week to recognize small businesses and the impact they have in the U.S. It is a week to celebrate America’s entrepreneurs and the innovation and advancement that small businesses produce every day. According to Maria Contreras-Sweet, the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, “National Small Business Week is a chance to honor our nation’s 28 million small businesses and renew our commitment to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit that is central to the American experience.”
This year, events are planned in Miami, Los Angeles, San Antonio, New York, and Washington, DC. Can’t make the trip? Check out the SBA’s online webinars for Small Business Week resources.
Take some time this week to get out of the trenches and reflect on your small business and the impact it has on the people you serve and the country you have helped shape.
