At Fortiviti, we look forward to our annual “Pumpkin Planning Day,” inspired by The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz. It’s a day where the whole team comes together to dive deeper into how we can better serve our clients. We take a close look at what’s working, where we can improve, and how we can apply successful processes from one client to others who might benefit. We’re all about making sure our clients feel valued, and this day helps us keep things running smoothly by evaluating our current processes with our team and confirming we’re working with clients who appreciate what we do.
A big part of the day is spent getting familiar with each of our clients, even those we don’t personally work with. This helps us make potential transitions between controllers easier, and it keeps our team connected across different industries. Everyone brings their insights to the table, so we can share ideas on what’s working for one client and apply those improvements to others. This day also helps us to evaluate who our best-fit clients are. We want to work with clients who value the role accounting plays in their greater business success and want a partnership. We consider consistencies in systems, company values, and other factors when determining our best-fit clients.
Of course, Pumpkin Planning Day isn’t just about work! We also have our annual Chili Cook-Off during lunch, where we had winners for best taste, best texture, and most unique chili. After that, we got into the fall spirit with pumpkin painting! We had some seriously creative designs, like a werewolf, a heart-eyed emoji, Frankenstein, and a giant Fortiviti logo pumpkin. It’s a great way to switch gears, get creative, and strengthen our team bond. By the end of the day, we leave with new ideas for serving our clients and a team that’s even more connected. It’s definitely one of our favorite days of the year!
