Max Dunlap
Max has a unique journey into the field of accounting. Currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), he has a rich background in music with two degrees in music performance from Kansas State University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His interest in accounting sparked through years of managing administrative tasks and preparing taxes for his wife’s business. This hands-on experience gave him a deep appreciation for the challenges small businesses face. Fortiviti’s focus on supporting small businesses resonated strongly with Max, as many of his family members are small business owners.
Max is committed to advancing his career and is planning to earn his CPA certification in the next few years.
Outside of work, Max leads a fulfilling life with his wife, Grace, and their two cats, Elsa and Willett. Their home is a hub of creativity and greenery, as they have an extensive garden and plant collection, as well as many instruments. Both Max and his wife play in the Crossroads Wind Symphony, performing four to five concerts annually across Kansas City and Lawrence. Max and Grace also share a passion for travel, having visited three continents and four countries, with New Zealand being a favorite destination.
