KVC: By the Numbers

KVC - Red Bag

KVC has a big impact in Kansas. They are responsible for 3,000+ children served by the state Department for Children and Families. In 2013, KVC:

  • Received 892 Family Preservation referrals
  • 3,511 individuals served by Family Preservation staff
  • Family Preservation staff provided 7,664 hours of face-to-face intervention
  • Helped 1,179 children reach permanency
  • Permanency staff helped 747 siblings find placement together
  • Licensed 243 new foster homes
  • 8,174 sessions delivered by Outpatient Services (Psychiatric and Therapeutic)
  • Responded to 3,195 crisis situations
  • Trained over 100 community partners in Trauma Systems Therapy (TST); 72% of all KVC families are also trained in TST
  • Provided supplies for 2,800 children so they could be ready for school

Last year, KVC Kansas exceeded their goal of holiday donations and every child in care received gifts! This holiday season, we wanted to be a part of that. We are adopting 4 “angels” and will be donating items from their wish list. If you would like to learn more about the KVC Angel program or would like to adopt an angel, check out their website.
