It’s Almost Game Time!

Football

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! No matter who you’re cheering for, we hope you enjoy the game, the commercials, the food and the company! You don’t have to be a football fan to embrace what has become a national holiday. Don’t like football? Do you even know who’s playing? Maybe turn the game into a game with some Super Bowl Squares.

The Commercials

The Super Bowl is one of the most watched television events, with Nielsen reporting an estimated 111.5 million viewers tuning in last year. And like many of those people watching, many of us at Fortiviti agree it is all about the commercials. Advertisers pay big bucks for a spot during the game. According to the Wall Street Journal, a company should expect to pay about $4.5 million for a 30 second commercial this year. Beverage companies are historically one of the biggest spenders, with Anheuser Busch Inbev spending approximately $33.6 million in 2014. Who can resist the ad with the puppy and the Clydesdale horses?

The Food & The Party

Many people look forward to attending a party on Super Bowl Sunday, or throwing one of their own. The retail industry benefits from this annual event, with the average consumer spending $77.88 in preparation for the game, according to the National Retail Federation. Some will splurge on a new TV or a team jersey that will never be worn again, but most will be buying food and drinks. Nothing says football party like chips and dip, or anything wrapped in bacon. Looking for a last minute appetizer to wow your friends and family? Try a Fortiviti staff favorite called 3-2-1 Dip, a delicious blend of cream cheese, rotel and sausage. Go grab yourself a plate, a beverage and a comfy seat – it’s almost kickoff time!
